Quango Leung

A little about myself: by day (and often by night) I am a hairstylist, a profession I love! I was born in Hong Kong in 1980 into a large family with six siblings. As my parents could not always afford to buy luxuries for us such as toy cars, games or dolls like Action Man and Barbie, I started drawing and creating paper dolls for my sisters to play. I loved it, so I never stopped drawing ever since and art became integral to my life, health and wellbeing. Over the years, apart from the pleasure, it also provided for me a relief and outlet for my emotions.
2008 I moved to London. Living and working in London gave me great exposure to the arts, fashion and style - no place better than London for this! It has enabled me to develop professionally and personally, and also helped to enhance my painting style. I'm experimenting with representational and abstract approaches to portraiture, always challenging myself to take my work in new directions. For years my artwork has been very personal and private, but now I am ready and happy to share it. I hope you enjoy the experience.
