Richard Wade

I am a Fine artist who has spent the last five years working as an artist's assistant to an artist based in London. Having recently moved back to Norfolk I am dedicating more of my time to producing my own work and am hoping to forge link with galleries and start showing more of my work.

My work primarily consists of landscapes, places and objects from my surroundings that are either real and experienced or juxtaposed and made up from hybrid elements drawn from the environment.

I am interested in the interaction of forms and objects within these scenes and have attempted to align them to create compositions that are asymmetrical combining hard lines and edges with softer more organic shapes and forms.

Although executed in meticulous detail I have exaggerated elements within these compositions to create an atmosphere of tension and uneasiness, be it through overstated colours, distorted perspectives and forms or by observing a peculiar vantage point in which to view the scene.

Recently returning to my roots in Norfolk after living in London for the last 6 years my work has changed from depictions of the architectural urban environment to scenes and objects drawn directly from nature and the natural environment.
