Alois P Champagne

I am a native of New Orleans and have been painting abstracts and on-site paintings for many years. I paint mostly abstract landscapes in a series with a common theme. The ideas come from the outdoors, the colorful images, that are in my mind from my plein air paintings. I incorporate the forms, shapes,structures,and colors that I see and remain in my subconsciousness. They become alive and evolve on the canvases as I paint extemporaneously.
While painting outdoors realist subjects such as street scenes and people, I use and store that reality for later use in the abstracts.
