Gabrielle Jones

Gabrielle’s paintings are recognisable for their beautiful use of colour, gestural mark-making and sense of movement; and evidence her embrace of the notion of chance in both her subject matter and her painting technique. "I like my art to show the layers of where I’ve been and the thoughts and process of how I got there – to have the experimentation and introspection built into the composition. I aim to express an elemental truth of what the world is like (from one artists point of view) in 21st Century, through paint. My most successful artworks capture the synergy of movement, musicality and process. When these elements come together in the studio, it is sheer joy – to me, painting is the “Juice” of life."
Gabrielle has held 17 solo shows in three states & including Goulburn Regional Gallery, Gallery Grefiti and the Museum La Rocca in Umbertide, Italy. Gabrielle has been appointed “Artist in Residence” at Bundanon; in Tahiti and Bora Bora; Valparaiso, Spain; Artscape Toronto, Canada; and at Tweed Regional Gallery.
