Helga Dieckmann was born in Schleswig-Holstein, grew up in rural areas, where an intensive relationship with nature developed.
The artistic path begins in the parental home under the care of nature-loving parents. The father paints and passes on his knowledge of painting to his daughter.
The requirements of professional activity influence the intensity of occupation with painting, but never lead far from the path. The first professional training includes a three-year instruction in photography. The acquisition of image content and the resulting composition of the image is trained during this time. The focus is on the importance and effects of light in the picture. The rules of perspective are approached. In addition to practicing the profession, further training in painting takes place. Drawing and painting are taught at the former Free Academy of Art in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg. The focus here is on painting with oil paints. The artistic area of the Anthroposophical Society Berlin becomes a regular training room for working with watercolors. The artistic education takes place in the earlier Free School of Art/ Academy of Art in Berlin with the painter Ute Wöllmann, Masterstudent of the painter Prof. Georg Baselitz and in the artistic area of the Anthroposophical Society in Berlin.
