Contact us.Igor Bardykin is a Los Angeles - based contemporary artist whose practice brings together painting, photographic processes, layered silk, color, memory, and sound.
Drawing from his background as a classically trained musician and his synesthetic perception of sound, Bardykin develops works in which musical intervals, colors, botanical imagery, and personal memories are translated into layered visual spaces. His surfaces are constructed through glazing, embedded materials, sanding, and hand - polished acrylic, creating a sense of depth in which images appear suspended beneath the surface rather than painted directly upon it.
His ongoing Memory Garden series explores the relationship between place and memory through plants connected to childhood, lived environments, and personal histories. Alongside his studio work, Bardykin creates private commissions within his established visual language. For these works, imagery may be developed from a collector’s own garden, landscape, architecture, photographs, or personal memories, transforming familiar material into an original work specific to the person and place for which it is created.
Across his practice, Bardykin approaches the artwork not simply as an image, but as an object containing layers of time, color, light, and memory.
