Hammed Abolaji-Oba, Born in Lagos in 1995 is a Nigerian visual artist whose compelling work explores the depths of human existence and societal forces. From a young age, drawing became his solace and voice, a passion his parents nurtured. He honed his skills under the mentorship of Mr. 4ward Art, evolving from simple cartoons to intricate human figures. After graduating from Yaba College of Technology in 2018, Abolaji-Oba interned at Universal Studio of Art, learning from renowned artists like Abiodun Olaku. His unique portraiture, primarily in acrylics, serves as poignant narratives of individual struggles and triumphs against societal pressures. He uses art to expose social inequalities, compelling viewers to confront complex human experiences. Beyond his individual practice, Hammed co-founded RIPPLE EFFECTS, a mural company that has transformed public spaces with impactful projects for major brands. His unwavering dedication to social realism shines through all his endeavors, making him a powerful advocate for a more equitable world.
