Court Haze

Courtney Davis Haze is an emerging abstract artist whose work explores emotion, movement, and the ever-changing nature of perception. A former ballerina and longtime creative, she found her artistic voice after leaving dance, using bold colors and dynamic compositions to evoke personal and universal meaning. After a decade in NYC, she now creates in Oklahoma City, bringing fresh energy to the contemporary art scene.

Before becoming a full-time artist, Courtney’s creative expression took another form—dance. A classically trained ballerina, Courtney grew up spending her summers in New York City studying dance with renowned companies such as the American Ballet Theatre, before an injury shifted her path. That love for movement, rhythm, and storytelling never left her, though, and after earning her degree, she returned to NYC to pursue a creative career in brand marketing, working with world-renowned brands like Tiffany & Co., Random House, and Scholastic. While in New York, she also wrote and illustrated B is for Boss Lady, a children’s book celebrating powerful, trailblazing women. That passion for storytelling now finds its way into her paintings—each piece a narrative of color, energy, and emotion.

Courtney is a self-taught artist who is has always been deeply inspired by the masters like Matisse, Degas, Renoir, and Rothko as well as contemporary visionaries such as Marilyn Minter, Damien Hirst, Paul Villinski, and Ashley Longshore. She immerses herself in continual learning and is contansly exploring new mediums, ways to create, and bring ideas to life.
