Sandra Croft

born in 1958 Southend,Essex.I have lived and worked in the Algarve,Portugal since 1988 with my husband Ray.As a child and teenager I was always drawing and painting but never pursued a career in art.(I became a professional singer).Then 10 years ago I took up watercolours and got hooked again on painting.I have spent all of my working life as a professional singer,and have travelled constantly for the past 30 years.I work alongside my husband Ray who is a musician and fellow artist.We are now settled here and we dont have to travel too much for our work which has enabled me to give more time over to my other passion of "painting".I love living in the Algarve as the light here is so inspiring and the mediteranean colours are a joy to paint.I paint a wide variety of subjects but I am especially drawn to miniatures & portraiture.

I am a mainly self taught watercolour artist although I have attended several classes over the years.I have exhibited in England at St.Mary in The Castle,Hastings and I exhibit regularly in the Algarve,at various venues mainly in the Western Algarve.,
