Derek Beggs

Born 1969, in Edinburgh Graduated 1992 from Glasgow School of art. Left Scotland for Spain in 2000, currently living and working in Germany

Derek Beggs was born in 1969, grew up in Dumfries in the south west of Scotland. Aged 19, he Studied at the Glasgow School of Art where he Graduated with an honours degree in Fine Art in 1992. After Art School he studied IT and Administrative Management for an additional year at the Glasgow Caledonian University in preparation for life in the real world.



For 7 years, Derek ran his own business providing creative services like props, sets and special effects for the film and television industry in Scotland. After selling up and moving to Mallorca he spent the next 3 years teaching Scuba diving in the north of the island before finally settling in Munich, Germany with his wife and young son where he now works for a Danish Company.



Throughout this entire time, he has continued to paint, draw and sculpt both as a hobby and as a professional artist. He has exhibited work both in his homeland of Scotland, but also in England, Spain, Bulgaria Denmark and in Germany. Future projects are a small Munich exhibition of drawings in December of this year, and further...
