I have been producing fine art photography for home and commercial spaces for the past 20 years. I've recently returned 'home' to Nova Scotia, Canada after living in the US for the past 25 years.
I have spent most of my life as a photographer and a decorator. I also had a vintage store and published a magazine. I photographed landscapes, people, animals, buildings, commercial projects and a sundry of other subjects. But never, until now, did I really feel that I found my “voice.”
I attended the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design in Halifax, Nova Scotia and landed my first job as a medical photographer in a teaching hospital where I learned to focus on the smallest details. (No do-overs in the operating room!) This was good training but not what I wanted as a career! I moved to the country with my family and opened up an antique store and restored old houses. Mid-career, I worked as an interior decorator. As an Industry Partner in the Association of Interior Designers (ASID) I'm always thinking about how my photography will display in living rooms, bedrooms, boardrooms, hotel lobbies, waiting rooms...
My work has been shown in a 'Street of Dreams' home in St. Louis, the MM Gallery, The Director's Gallery, A is for Artists Gallery, a curated exhibition in Vintage Home & Garden, the homes of several private clients, National Geographic Traveler Magazine, and Evoke Magazine (as editor and principal photographer). I've also created work for commercial establishments, including a series of 20 custom images for a high-end spa in the Pacific Northwest.
