Paul Mcdermott

I was born in the south of England but moved around a lot with my family and finally in my late teens moved to France where I lived for over 20 years. I moved back to the UK in 2001 and then to Ireland in 2005 to be nearer my father who had moved back home several years previously.

Although I have always painted, mainly in oils, it has only been over the last couple of years that I started using watercolors. They are often quite challenging to use but at the same time extremely satisfying when you achieve the effect you are aiming for.

I also write poetry and as in my painting am interested in trying to convey emotions or feelings through my work.
