Angela Herbert-Hodges creates original watercolor paintings on paper. Angela grew up in a small village, in the green rolling countryside of Cumbria. In between, the High peaks of the Lake District, & the grey waters of the Solway Firth. She has lived & worked in London, Paris, Spain & Zimbabwe, currently having put down roots, on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, USA. Angela is a Contemporary Watercolorist, who also uses papers & Gouache & pencil , to create her vibrant colorful, Paintings of Landscapes, People, African Animals. Angela has had 2 Solo shows of her work in NY, NY. She has also had 3 Solo shows of her Paintings in Washington, DC. Herbert-Hodges work has been shown in multiple group shows locally & regionally, in Maryland, and, Virginia. She was the featured Artist in Chesapeake Life, in 2010, and is recognized for her abstracted, highly textured Paintings on paper & canvas. Herbert-Hodges has been awarded signature membership, in the Virginia Watercolor Society and invited to show in the Easton Academy of Art, the Ward Museum of Art, and winning an award in the National Collage Society, as well as being accepted, into various National Juried shows. Her work offers glimpses into her deep interests, with Collaged studies of the Environment, and a large series of endangered African Animals, with a focus on Rhinocerous and Elephants. Herbert-Hodges is a Cordon Bleu Chef. She was a competitive Fencer for many years, whilst in UK and, later, winning 2 USA Veterans titles for Foil, she also represented America. Herbert-Hodges started the Salisbury Fencing Club, in Salisbury, Maryland,where she is a Coach.
