Semih Çelebi was born in Istanbul in 1971. He is an artist who brings together traditional Turkish woodcraft techniques with a contemporary and distinctive approach. By masterfully combining wood carving, inlay, naht, marquetry, and fretwork techniques, he developed his unique artistic language known as NEVA Art. This art form conveys not only the natural texture of the material but also layers of time, culture, and thought through a multidimensional structure.
For Çelebi, wood is not merely a material to be shaped, but a living medium that speaks through memory, history, and meaning. NEVA Art emerges from this philosophy, forming an artistic language that carries three-dimensional thought with technical expertise and conceptual depth. His works balance material, meaning, and aesthetics, integrating symbolic and intellectual layers within physical ones.
