Karen Terzyan

I was born in Yerevan, Armenia in 1962. I studied to be an engineer at university. I took up art in the 1990s, exploring the idea of presenting flora and fauna in the likeness of humans in bronze sculptures. Not just in a purely visual sense, but more akin to a complete transformation of various plants into human features cast from bronze as a psycho-emotional processes of personal development which in turn are parts of learning to be oneself. Later my art took a more surreal approach, in which I cast my vision of inner, hidden from view, life of a human, the entire emotional spectrum of feelings. It's like my own personal peculiar Jungian vision in bronze.
