Born 1970 in Worksop, Nottinghamshire.I am a lecturer in Art & Design, which is almost like masachism sometimes and I'm writing a book that describes the fall of creativity and I paint day and night. I appreciate contemporary art that demonstrates an understanding of the need to think and work hard.My 'clowns' and 'a few other thoughts' are a reaction to the cheap and depressing entertainment that we are subjected to on a daily basis. The kind of entertainment that drives a wedge between humanity and reality. You know the kind I mean; magenta gossip magazines with tangerine faces, cruel and banal talent shows and people who know very little yet are still given the opportunity to preach their word. The 'seascapes' are the opposite, they are more of a representation of what I, or we all need; that of which is real (I do not just refer to my own work or seascapes alone).So, you have two pictures in your room. One that moves, gibbers and persuades (mostly) and the other that is still, serene and calm (always). Ordinarily they exist in a perfect physical hierarchy, the painting sits higher than the television. Therefore the more paintings or photographs you have in the room the less likely you are to be drawn into 'The Dance of The Happ...
