Elinor Walter / Nora Nagy / was born in 1970 in Hungary. Elinor's paternal ancestry belonged to an ancient noble family which included Deák Ferenc, who was the first minister of justice of Hungary in 1848. Her maternal side is of Hungarian & American ancestry. During her childhood, she grew up in a small city called Leninvaros; which is now known as Tiszaujvaros. She learned art in elementary and high school. Modern art had a big impact on her artistic view point when she realized the difference between Classical Art, Modern American school projects and European Modern Art painters' works. She studied the XX. century's best modern impressionists' works like; Wassily Kandinsky, Pablo Picasso, Mark Rothko and Jackson Pollock. She was 30 in Toronto, Canada when she started concentrating on developing her own art style in Abstract Impressionism. The artworks by Elinor Walter show strong abstract elements with straight line object compositions and accurate abstract features with balance in geometrical concepts and color usage.
