The exploratory work of ET ALEECE is marked by a profound silence — the same focused silence that pervades laboratories and research chambers, where idle chatter and scholarly distinctions feel out of place. Her practice asserts itself as a syntax of visual elements, structured from multiple sources, both artistic — from Boullée to the counter-proposals of radical architecture, from Mario Merz to James Lee Byars — and cinematic — from Straub-Huillet to the Wachowskis.
This iconography, while drawing on the natural and physical sciences, ultimately reveals the vanity of all inventory attempts. […]
Confronted with either a deliberate rawness of materials or with unsuspected luxuriance, the viewer experiences diverging, even contradictory flows. We are invited to measure the intensities that emerge from these constellations where, in the artist’s own words: “the present flows within the imprint of time.”
