Roch Forowicz

Artistically, Roch Forowicz is interested in the problem of privacy, especially in the context of urban surveillance - con- stant observation by monitoring and data processing systems. His activity is radical, referred to as “hacktiv- ist” interventions, based on the interception and use of surveillance devices against the will of their creators. His audiovisual installations are often the field of contact of viewers with technology that every day records their activity with greater precision. Thus, his creative work addresses the issues of panoptism, prompting reflection on the legitimacy of continuous observation to which we are subjected in an urban environment.

In 2005 he graduated from the Multimedia Art Creation Workshop at the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Since 2007-2019, he has been working at the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. In 2017, he defended his doctoral degree at the Faculty of Graphic Arts.
Since 2022 Roch Forowicz works at the University of Ecology and Management in Warsaw.
