Dainius Gajauskas

I am an artist from Kaunas. I enjoy portraying architecture, urban landscapes, buildings, and people from a variety of, sometimes unexpected, perspectives, as well as abstract and symbolic objects. My main focus is on capturing diverse environments and subjects, combining the rigid structures of the city with the subtle aesthetics of nature that I discover in my everyday surroundings, in the countryside, and during my travels. I am fascinated by the artistic and visual elements of different cultures and eras, where history intertwines with modernity.
Working with acrylics on canvas, I most often use a palette knife, sometimes in combination with a brush, to create dynamic textures and a strong expression of color. Painting, for me, is a form of meditation – a way to relax and escape from daily concerns, where time seems to cease to exist. This process brings me immense joy, allowing me to infuse each piece with positive energy, regardless of the palette – whether it is composed of soft, light tones or intense, dramatic color combinations.
