Kathy Haycock

Usually I work immersed in the landscape that I'm painting. Energizing and enriching, I want to share the rewarding full on experience with the viewer.
I am known for my expressive brushwork, natural colours and gently rhythmic style.
I travel and paint onsite across North America, from Greenland across Canada's North into Alaska, through the provinces of Canada and south into the western and southern United States as well as Florida,
Back In my studio in Ontario, I travel in my mind to special places of flight and fancy, taking my onsite work to another level of concept in large canvases.

I received a Bachelor of Arts and then worked in the field of log home construction, created woven tapestries and stained glass windows before committing to oil painting full time in 2005. Since then I have attended several workshops. My major influence though was growing up surrounded by the artwork of my Dad, Arctic artist Maurice Haycock, and his painting partner of 30 years A. Y. Jackson of Canada's Group of Seven.
