Born in 1960, Marc Reist is a natural scientist among artists; observing nature is his starting point. He engages with its materials and their structures, their textures, origins and potential. The long road of the artist Reist divines the correlations between the microcosmos and the macrocosmos, for his philosophical belief assures him that all existence is related. To a vantage point outside man, in the universe beyond, there comes a reply from within man, from the smallest primordial particle. Spatial grids and cellular lattices encounter one another in his work and find themselves in accord.
