Hey There,
Art has its own pleasure and reward, I say this as a self taught artist. To be an artist you dont need to go to Art school,
When you ask people why they love their hobby or sport, they may find it difficult to explain. Perhaps its a bit of the endorphin rush one gets from being good at something. Art is very similar. its very difficult to explain why or what is so appealing about sitting for hours working on a painting. I guess its that endorphin rush when things start to come together, Obviously there are times when its quiet frustrating. But in the end its very satisfying about applying paint to a canvas and seeing something emerge. Its quiet meditative if you ask me. I think thats the Merit of an artist.
