Anurag Anand is an award-winning visual artist and a bestselling fiction author. He hails from a small village in Chhapra district of Bihar, India. The pursuit of quality education made him leave home at the tender age of five, whereon he found himself living in school and college hostels in different parts of the country. The yearning for home and to aimlessly and unabashedly meander in the village meadows was seeded in him as a child, but it was in his art that it finally found a voice. Anurag’s astute observation – a skill he mastered through the journey of penning fifteen books across genres – and his ability to connect the inanimate with deep rooted thoughts and emotions gives his art a unique language. He deftly uses the interplay of manmade structures with nature to tell thought-provoking stories in a palette that is both rustic and vibrant. Anurag’s works have been featured in leading publications like The Times of India, Indian Express and New Indian and have been displayed in several major galleries across the country. His paintings form a part of several private collections across the globe. Anurag was felicitated at the Khajuraho International Film Festival (2024) for his contributions to the world of art and writing. He was also conferred with the Bangiyaa Kala Upaasnaa Award for his art practice in 2022.
