Loona Contemporary proposes mystery through the works of selected artists. To create art is to go beyond the protective cloak forged by emotions, and to erase its effect by confronting the abyss. To enjoy the art, one must be able to discern, even if only for a moment, that deep calling towards it and come out transformed. If the artist is like a gardener who sees his flowers blooming and the artwork is a flower that does nothing else but manifest itself, to enjoy that manifestation without resisting it is an act of humility that makes us grow. The creative act is to search for the seed, explore the abyss, peak into the chasm and share that journey. That is why it can be said that the artist confronts the mystery and when he does it, lives his trance.
Claudio Fiorentini is the director and curator of Loona Contemporary and Captaloona Art.
A good portion of the world in his history and a wealth of cultural experiences, combined with an insatiable curiosity that has never placed limits on his studies, make Claudio Fiorentini a true cultural mediator—a promoter of the arts capable of uniting different perspectives, engaging in dialogue with diverse opinions, and understanding the multifaceted habits and customs that drive contempor...
Claudio is known for being a novelist and a poet, but he is also a self-taught artist. He started painting when he was 40 and has since gained many years of experience selling his own art. He uses his poetry and writing to inspire his paintings. In 2019, he opened his own gallery in Madrid, Captaloona Art, where he represents and sells the work of other talented artists.
Since the opening of Captaloona Art Gallery, Claudio has produced over 50 exhibitions of various artists and themes. Most recently, he is exhibiting artwork from the second volume of Unravelling the Unconscious, titled Doodles. The artwork is centred around the idea that great pieces of art can come from a simple doodle. Doodling is pointless, yet it’s a free act where the subconscious imprints itself in a language of its own, that belongs to us. In addition to exhibiting about 18 artworks in his own gallery, he also produces a magazine to showcase over 30 artists´ works from across the globe.
