Born Cairo, Egypt 19.9.1949. I have painted for my living for over 50 years, through thick and thin. Nowadays I have my studio in West Dorset, previously North Yorkshire. In normal times, I aim to travel for half the year, painting as I go, usually in goache, very portable. All my painting is on a black background, and the image emerges out of the Void, a fairly thrilling process. The subject matter: I only paint what I find beautiful, fascinating, and what makes me happy. These qualities mean the paintings will outlast the whims of fashion.
Educated internationally and in convent schools, from which I ran away to join the 1960's Poetry & Jazz caravanserai. Fed up with words I took to painting, first as a traditional signwriter and horsedrawn vehicle painter ( where I learnt my brushwork) and then branching out . Now I'm a big tree as you can see on my website - look it up, it's fun.,
Most recent solo show: "C'est La Vie! — Lives of the Ladies of the Languedoc" at Le Lezard Bleu, South of France. Currently: I'm working towards a big retrospective landscape solo show in 2023.
