Kasia Frankowicz is a Melbourne-based artist whose work sits at the intersection of tenderness and rebellion. With bold colours, figurative forms, and a wink of surreal humour, she paints what it feels like to be alive — awkwardly, vividly, and unapologetically. Her practice draws from memory, emotion, street culture and quiet acts of defiance, often featuring recurring motifs like horses, cats, cowboys, topless women, and weird little moments that say more than words can.
Born in Western Sydney to refugee parents, Kasia’s work carries a layered sense of identity — part soft nostalgia, part sharpened edge. She’s not interested in perfection. Her figures are deliberately off-kilter, her compositions both stripped back and emotionally loaded. Whether it’s a sunbather with a book on her chest or a lone cowboy lit by the moon, her work finds meaning in the mess and beauty in the banal.
Alongside painting, Kasia creates soft sculptural pieces that echo the tactile, playful energy of her visual world. Her work has appeared in Frankie Magazine, Art/Edit, Voyage LA, ABC’s Artworks and more. She is also the founder of REBIRTH, a platform for creative exploration and community connection.
