Born in 1953, Koog a/d Zaan, The Netherlands. -
Dutch artist Lucienne Smit studied art and printmaking at the Academy of Arts and Design St. Joost (Avans University of Applied Science) in Breda, the Netherlands. Lucienne Smit likes to travel around the world and see other cultures. South-Korea, Dubai, Hong Kong, New York, Turkey, Aruba, Lombok and Bali: these are a few of the places she has been. Then, at home in her studio in Holland, when working on her paintings, she tries to capture the essence of what has impressed her in the countries that she has visit - such as the skyline from Hong Kong as seen from the opposite side Kowloon, a windtower in the streets of ancient Bur Dubai or a ceremony on the island of Bali.
