Modiromoluwa Popoola

Born in Ibadan, Nigeria on the 7th of November 1998 to a Yoruba father and an Igbo mother, he was first immersed in the traditions of his Itsekiri grandmother whom he was raised by, and then greatly influenced by western culture. So, he always had a culturally diverse ideology towards life. From a young age, he found himself deeply immersed and captivated by comic art culture and it all started the moment his dad bought him his first ever comic book titled” Supa Strikas”.

It wasn’t until after attaining his B.Sc. in Sociology in 2022 that his passion was reignited and since then, he has embarked on a prolific journey and a rollercoaster of emotions where he has experienced periods of both self-doubts and overwhelming euphoria.

As a self taught contemporary artist using acrylics and oil paints as a preferred medium, his works are influenced by contemporary social issues within self and the society at large as well as personal experiences and emotions

His works have been collected by local and international collectors.
