I presently specialise in painting using watercolour, acrylic, oils and mixed medium. I also have a strong interset in sculpture. The themes are of, and draw attention to the natural world, and more recently have including works responding to the Christchurch earthquakes. My deep connections with nature, the unique New Zealand landscape and the human relationship with these is where I seek inspiration. I am aslo interested in exploring different scale/dimension within my work and am presently working from organic themed micro images, enlarging them into abstract works. My works can be described as Semi-impressionistic/realistic and Semi-abstract expressionistic. I teach drawing and painting from my home based studio and also run painting workshops. I have marketed a series of prints of my watercolour paintings, and hold regular local exhibitions of my work. My husband is a composer and we have three children who all share our love of the arts. I am also a singer/songwriter and enjoy performing in a jazz band as well as solo perfrmance. I have a huge interest in the arts and enjoy attending art exhibitions and listening to a broad range of music. I enjoy tramping, walking, surfing and spending time with my family & friends.
