Peter Sugar is an architect and artist, born in Hungary, educated in England and the US, and settled in the US since the early ‘60s. While pursuing his profession, he nevertheless always carries a sketchbook to gain a better understanding of, and record, his surroundings. He has visited many countries and his portfolio is filled with images of his travels. In his drawings he concentrates on the quality of the line as well as the effect the play of light imparts to the appearance of an object, a point emphasized by Gyorgy Kepes, the New Bauhaus painter and art theorist, who was one of Peter’s professors during a course of advanced visual design he attended while studying at MIT.
