Elena Gordon is a London-based multidisciplinary artist and designer whose creative vision is deeply intertwined with her Russian heritage and Jewish roots. Her artistic journey is a dynamic synthesis of influences, shaped by the avant-garde movements of constructivism, fauvism, and suprematism, which continue to inform her work in profound and unexpected ways. From an early age, Elena's fascination with the visual world was sparked by her late grandfather's legacy as a photographer. Though they never met, his cameras and an extensive collection of books on abstract art, carefully preserved by her grandmother, became a gateway to her exploration of artistic expression. These relics of the past served as silent mentors, instilling in Elena an insatiable curiosity for form, composition, and the interplay of structure and abstraction. Under the guidance of her uncle, a still-life artist, Elena embarked on formal artistic training at a classical art school. While she mastered traditional techniques, it was abstract art that captured her imagination, propelling her towards a unique, unconventional aesthetic that bridges the realms of art, architecture, and psychology. Elena's academic background encompasses landscape and urban architecture alongside social cognition, providing her with a profound understanding of how spatial environments influence human perception and experience. This interdisciplinary perspective has driven her to curate and participate in contemporary art exhibitions in Moscow, where she challenges the traditional boundaries between disciplines, weaving together photography, painting, and architectural design. Professionally, Elena has made significant strides as an urban designer and architectural consultant, merging aesthetic innovation with functional precision. Her work is characterised by a meticulous attention to detail and an innate ability to balance simplicity with texture, creating compositions that resonate with both depth and harmony. Whether shaping physical spaces or conceptualising artistic installations, Elena's approach is underpinned by an acute sensitivity to the psychological and emotional impact of design. Influenced by the grandeur of theatre, ballet, and classical music, Elena draws upon these disciplines to enrich her creative process. Oil painting remains her primary medium, where she skilfully wields brushes to translate her visions onto canvas.
