Stretched on wooden frame. The edges are painted. It does not need framing and is ready to be hung directly on the wall.

The series of paintings in which this one finds its place belongs to the "art and society" theme. I called it "Our Society" because it is currently a global phenomenon.
Uniformity, conformity, consumerism, globalization ... the girl's decision to change her path against the "herd" behind her is expressed through the manifest of cutting her hair in the public square, a dramatic gesture to arouse society’s reaction. The idea is linked to women’s habit of radically changing the way they wear their hair when facing a change in their lives.
Taking this decision sharply awakes all her senses. She walks through the city barefoot because the tactile sense makes the connection with the lost primordial power that she had, taking in the change with her eyes closed.

Livia Geambasu studied at “Ion Mincu” University of Architecture and Urban Planning, Bucharest, Romania, making a statement through multidisciplinary fields: Architecture, Fine Arts, Interior Design, Product Design and Urban Planning. She is an architecture MA and member of The Romanian Order of Architects. She has been working independently since 2005. More details, here: Livia picked up painting again in autumn 2015 after long years of working in architecture and design. She gained gallery international recognition in 2016 and 2019 as well, in Art Revolution Taipei (A.R.T.) the annual international Art Shaw in Taiwan, being between the finalists. She also exposed in many other galleries all over the word (twice U.K. - London, digital in New York and Basel, etc.) Her work varies from conventional to bizarre compositions, from oil, acrylic or watercolor to ink, charcoal, pencil and has painted murals as well. Art doesn’t exist without creativity, originality and emotion, all joined by that special atmosphere of the creation – peaceful, storming, emotional or the ugly-beauty. Some of her originals are in private collections in USA, U.K., France, Switzerland, Taiwan, Chile, Colombia, Iraq, Qatar and Romania. Livia (in 2015): “Only recently I started painting again with the passion of the childhood years. I explore continuously new styles and techniques, the dynamics of my work being it’s eclecticism, in other cases, it would be very boring for me. Subjects are born through my energetic feelings about images of real life. I associate unconventional images, paint moments of the social life of the city and build stories.”
