Nicholas Cornwell

Born 1970 from Bromley, Kent. Artist, Sculptor and Educator lives and works in London. We are all just borrowing our time here and it will eventually be returned to whence it came. It is up to us to do something to leave behind.
Drawing has once again become my passion, the simplicity of the line, smudged and blurred creating a photo-realistic imagery that becomes something more than the sum of its parts. Creating artwork that is a living breathing entity that lives long beyond our own limited existence is the only goal that any artist can expect from life.
By using ordinary everyday images of our existence I have developed drawings that blur the lines between the seen and unseen. I use graphite pencils and a negative image to produce artwork that engages the viewer in a new way with a secondary hidden imagery. This process allows me to form new neural connections when viewing the work and the viewer a new way of engaging with the work.
