This controversial character has been an inspiration for many artists, in many different fields of the creativity. I found it fascinating and indeed painted it twice in my carreer. One is part of a private collection now, one is this above. Acrylic on canvas, with red color domination.

Born in 1956 in Milan where I lived and worked until 2005. In the last years of my training I worked in a small studio as a cartoonist, including Tom & Jerry, following small graphics projects. I then worked as a free lance as an Art Junior and Visualizer for the most important Advertising Agencies of that period (Young & Rubicam, Lintas, Thomson to name a few) and began a collaboration with an important Milan agency, licensee in Italy of many characters including Popeye, developing various licensed products for customers such as Rinascente. Then begin a long path of growth, which lasted 15 years, in the Packaging and Design sector in a permanent collaboration with an important Milan studio, working for the most important companies in the various product sectors, growing internally to subsequently become a partner and responsible for the entire creative department. At the same time I took care of a music magazine for a few years and, subsequently, a restaurant one as co-founder and Art Director for both, taking care of the graphics and advertising. In 1993 I opened my studio as the sole owner, specialized in computer graphics, learning to use photo editing and graphics programs and continued my activity as Creative Director and consultant for an agency operating in the fashion sector, with which he still collaborates. Packaging, design and corporate image will continue to be an important part of my work, to which projects for stands, shop windows and display materials within them must be added. I've always loved my job and , as I started it in the era with no computers, I've always been into drawing too. My profile as an artist became stronger about 5 years ago where one day, just like that, I started painting on my first canvas, taking inspiration from a project of a fashion campaign in my early years as graphic designer. And from then, I couldn't stop! The techniques I like the most are acrylic and watercolor, using relief on canvas . Lately I've begun also sculpturing with crete, getting always the inspiration from the female body.
