My art is where ethereal dreams intersect beautiful and generous spaces, tropical and dreamy landscapes, exotic, whimsical, and mysterious. My aim is that each image create a sense of wonder and refreshment and diversion in every viewer, if even for a few moments; indeed, this is my core intention when I create art.

I call my personal style "the aesthetics of wonder and refreshment." Impressionist yet modernist; expressionist yet minimal, eastern yet western, each image captures the imagination of the viewer and gifts them with a sacred pause, or a 5 second vacation, or perhaps a sudden flashback to a lovely moment long ago.

I have degrees in art history and asian religions from Yale University. It was one of the most challenging and rewarding periods of my life. All the romantic notions of being in such programs were gone in about a few weeks of starting, as the stress of maintaining academic standards set in. But it powerfully informs a lot of what I "see," how I frame landscapes, how objects catch my eye. So that tough period, though challenging and very stressful, was, alas, very rewarding and valuable. And much of that collective experience deeply informs my art and "the aesthetics of wonder and refreshment," which I try to present and manifest not only in my art, but in my whole life each day.
