Agustín De Celis

Artist (Comillas, Cantabria, Spain). Grand Prize of Rome, 1960. National Painting Prize, 1971. Prize of the Congress of Deputies, 1983.
Celis's production, influenced by informalism, abstraction and neofigurative currents, embraces a plastic language that is constantly evolving. His painting pursues the theme of space and time, memory and imagination. Those topics are represented by the interaction between landscapes and figuration, the light treatment and the vibrant colors.
His work is currently exhibited in the National Museum Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid; Museum of Contemporary Art of Sevilla,
