Daniel Pincham-Phipps is a British artist known for painting and his past career as a comic book illustrator. His work has evolved from biographical, figurative pieces to more abstract and expressive styles influenced by his cartooning background. Comic artist: From 1979 to 1992, he worked as a cartoonist for publications like The Beano, Dandy, Topper, and Whizzer and Chips, as well as for Hanna-Barbera. This background later influenced his fine art, which began incorporating graphic lines and bright colours. Artistic influences: His work is associated with movements such as Abstract Expressionism, Neo-Expressionism, and Urban Expressionism. Figurative Abstraction: Over time, his style shifted to what he calls "Figurative Abstraction." He often reworks pieces repeatedly in a process of searching for their identity.
