Yuan’s work explores the intersection of abstraction, nature, and cultural memory. Each piece is a search for harmony through contrast: bold yet delicate, energetic yet serene. She is drawn to organic forms and flowing structures, often inspired by natural rhythms—wind through leaves, the movement of water, or the quiet bloom of a flower. These sensations are expressed through layered brushwork, fluid marks, and open space, inviting the viewer into a meditative encounter with transience and stillness.
With a deep appreciation for traditional Chinese art and its influence, Yuan has developed her own contemporary visual language—gestural, spontaneous, and emotionally resonant.
She primarily works with acrylic on canvas or paper, sometime incorporating ink or marker. Her process is intuitive, guided by emotion and the subtle tension between control and spontaneity.
