Melike Akyildiz

Melike is a visual artist based in Istanbul whose sculptural work explores the relationship between fabric, memory, and the human body. Using materials like felt, wool, lace, and thread, she creates tactile forms that often reference the female figure and traditional textile practices.

Her process is intuitive and rooted in handcraft, allowing materials to guide the shape and emotion of each piece. Through softness, layering, and repetition, she reflects on themes of identity, care, and embodied memory.
