Mihyun Kim

Mihyun Kim is a South Korean painter who merges realistic oil painting techniques with symbolic and expressive narratives.
Inspired by the psychological theory of pyknolepsy, her work explores the duality of everyday life and the fleeting moments that quietly linger.
She is known for her soft, delicate brushwork, which she uses to depict symbolic figures, familiar objects, and her personal persona—a duck—creating imagery that is both whimsical and contemplative.
Kim received her MFA in Painting from Hongik University, and continues to expand her practice through ongoing exhibitions and multidisciplinary projects.
