Born in Paris in 1977, Axel Ingé studied painting and drawing at the Académie Charpentier and philosophy at La Sorbonne before studying in interior design at the École supérieure des arts modernes (ESAM). For twenty years he worked as an interior designer in France and abroad, while continuing his artistic practice. He moved to Bordeaux in 2014 and is now fully involved in his artistic research. At the root of his practice, drawing. In 2016, he joined the studios of the City of Bordeaux in Annexe B and co-founded with other artists the collective grŒp in 2017 Space history relations A set of themes relating to the state of being, transient, second states, taking hold of the body, turning into obsession and then vanishing after having infiltrated for a long time into the artist’s continuous web. Like a background noise, the portrait of relatives, strangers, then, under the appearance of familiarity, so close and intimate. There are relics of history, of ancestral human presence, such as forgotten photos, icons of classical painting, pieces of flint reproduced in clay and in casts, in serigraphs. The world in the state of its reproducibility.
