As a Vancouver-based artist working primarily in pencil and charcoal, I create detailed drawings that explore perception, visual ambiguity, and emotional resonance. My work investigates how shifting perspectives—both literal and psychological—can alter our understanding of familiar forms. By blending precise realism with subtle abstraction, I aim to create images that invite prolonged observation and contemplation. These drawings often evoke softness, tension, or dissonance through compositional layering and fine mark-making, encouraging viewers to reflect on their own ways of seeing and sense of self. Rooted in disciplined technique and conceptual inquiry, my practice is motivated by a desire to explore the complexity and vulnerability embedded in everyday experience.
