Joel Goldfoot is a visual artist that explores the interaction of abstract art and technology. Goldfoot has produced several series of abstract art that blurs the line between human creativity and machine intelligence. His most recent series is made by a process of creating and introducing an image and collaborating with the computer on exploring various iterations and interpretations of the idea. Goldfoot saw an opportunity to explore the concept of creativity at the intersection of humanity and machine intelligence. Goldfoot started his artistic experiments with algorithmic image processing in 2009. Goldfoot worked on using neural networks to automate some of his tasks as a creative director. He started to see how visual information could be represented as data and thereby began to realize the idea he had been working on for a long time: creative collaboration with machines.
