Giuseppe Verga was born in 1973 in Mola
di Bari. He graduated at the School of Fine
Arts in Urbino. At the moment he lives and
works in Milan - Italy.

In my opinion, in contemporary society most of communication is based on images. We are
constantly besieged by images coming from monitors, posters, televisions, the Internet, etc. This
huge number of images does not get lost when the eyes stop watching but piles up in layers and
places itself in the infinite archive of human memory.
I like to think about it as an uncontrolled continuous upload and compression of images by the
mind, a process which removes all the redundant data to create synthetic images and save
space. Any photo I find attractive is temporarily put aside waiting to be retrieved afterwards,
like a file in a computer. In this archive of the memory, family snapshots, child memories, often
full of religious references, and the atmosphere of my childhood and adolescent environments
meet haphazardly.
