María Moreno

maría moreno is an award-winning Venezuelan-Canadian abstract painter. Her work focuses on movement, colour, and emotion. She was born in the vibrant Canary Islands and grew up in Caracas, Venezuela, places which strongly influence her artistic voice. Now based in Canada, she works mainly in acrylics, creating textured and expressive abstract paintings.
Her process is intuitive as she begins without a set plan, letting instinct, memory, and mood guide each piece as it develops. Rather than aiming for perfection, she welcomes unexpected moments and sees spontaneity as an essential part of her process. She invites viewers to move beyond mere observation—to feel, rather than view, her work—to engage with the piece.
Her work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions in Canada and internationally, and are part of private and corporate collections across North and South America.
