Wabyanko is a contemporary visual artist born in Brittany, France, and based in Nantes. He works across acrylic painting, stop motion animation and AI, creating hybrid works that explore collective memory, social fragility and the things societies choose to forget.
His signature style merges abstract figurative painting, street art and digital media. Bold colour contrasts, expressive lines and symbolic imagery create a visual tension between chaos and harmony — inviting collectors and viewers to look again, and longer.
In 2020, his work on the Covid crisis was selected to illustrate a Fortune Global Conference. His paintings are held in private collections across the United States, Europe, and Asia (Hong Kong, Singapore). His market value is officially rated by AKOUN, the French art market reference for collectors.
Wabyanko exhibits regularly at international art fairs in Paris and Brussels. He is represented by The Art Cycle Gallery, Paris, and featured on OuestArtShop, Brittany. His work has been selected for group exhibitions including "Penser le Processuel" (Centre Culturel P.J. Vallès, Paris, 2024).
In 2026, he completes three hybrid short films — Unchained Ship (Nantes), Silent Red Threads, and Crimson Ephemeral Sand — ex...
Self-taught artist. I learned by looking, practising and experimenting: spending time in Paris museums and art exhibitions, and in particular the Louvre, studying how masters handle light, gesture and storytelling. I keep learning across different media: acrylic painting, stop motion, digital creation.
My background in IT technology gives me a taste for tools and process, and I bring it into my art.
In 2024, I presented an exhibition in Paris built around an installation I designed: a stop motion film made from my own paintings, shown with a homemade zoetrope built by hand. In 2025, I began creating video art with AI, always from my own artistic direction, while keeping my canvases fully hand-painted, with no AI on the canvas.
In 2026, my film Silent Red Threads – Skyward was shortlisted among five films in the Best AI Film category at the Inspiring Asia festival and screened in the semi-final at the National Gallery Singapore.
Influences: Monet, Basquiat, Banksy and the cinema of Takeshi Kitano, Eric Khoo.
