My name is Arjuna Geir Aasehaug. I was born in Bergen, Norway in 1967, but I am currently living and working outside Gothenburg, Sweden. I am a painter, and I work mostly with acrylic on canvas. My art is mysterious, dreamlike and poetic; some would also say surrealistic. I am concerned with the relationship between contrast and various human conditions and moods. I am trying to show something about our surroundings and the rooms we live in; and to the different "things" and phenomena that comes and goes around us. I also examine the relationship between the important and the importance versus unimportant and insignificant; and the interaction between these properties and States. In allmost all of my pictures there are flying or floating element, and also from time to time threatening elements, that pops upp and makes entrance into the landscape. It may be a lonely air ship, some air balloons, a plane or maybe some decending parachutes. The images are peaceful, often filled by a beautiful light, but they are also marked by loneliness, emptiness and isolation.
