I love these old classic horror films. The atmosphere they captured is amazing, considering some of them are heading for 90 - 100 years old.
For obvious reasons the only reference for these characters are black & white so i thought i would try to capture them in colour, which was both challenging and enjoyable.
I paint using acrylics on clay board, which enables me to put them in a frame with no glass after varnishing, better for viewing.
They all come with a 4 inch ornate frame ready to hang

I have been a self employed artist for over 30 years. When I discovered the airbrush in the late 80's, I quickly became involved in custom painting bikes and cars, which was a real learning curve. This really helped hone my skills with realism and fine detail. This adventure then led me to starting a small company designing artwork for various products which made my artwork available all around the world. While this was going on I was asked to join a tattoo studio, which i did, but to follow this venture you need to commit 100% ,which I did, leaving my painting on the back burner for a while. I have now been a tattooist for 25 years and I`m the owner of the Blue Dragon Tattoo studio in Brighton. After a spell of M.E / chronic fatigue syndrome which lasted a few very long years, I had to take a hiatus from tattooing. This was a very trying time, but I got through it by returning to painting, as and when I was physically able. As my health improved, I was painting more and more, and loving it. I now paint more than I tattoo, because it gives me so much pleasure. My journey continues, and I look forward to sharing my new paintings with you. Mick J
