Red hair boy Sculpture

Zbigniew Bury was born in 1966 in Wadowice. He studied at the Private School of Visual Arts in Bielsko-Biała for one year. While renovating the polychrome in Gierałtowice, he became friends with the artist Karol Pustelnik, a member of "The Krakow Group". They remained in close contact until Karol Pustelnik's death in 2010. In 1996, he founded the artistic group "Studio TU" together with the artist Piotr Jargusz. In 1997, he participated in the art fair "Kunst Findet Kunst" in Munich, where he presented works dedicated to the problem of freedom in postcommunist countries. In 2002 in Isny (Germany) his project titled „Red Line Art – European Art – Project 2002” got the most recognition and was implemented. He exhibited both nationally and internationally. Zbigniew Bury is an interdisciplinary artist practicing painting, ceramics, and sculpture. Since 2008, he has also created caricatural works under the pseudonym Alex Johanson. In 2009, the artist was awarded the Silver Medal of the "Labor Omnia Vincit" Society, which is an expression of the highest recognition for his professional, artistic, and socio-cultural activity. In 2013, he received the "Meritorious for Polish Culture" badge awarded by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Bogdan Zdrojewski. In 2020, he received an Honorary Diploma of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine in Kyiv. He belongs to the NADSKAWIE Art Group, which operates within the Towarzystwo Miłośników Ziemi Wadowickiej [The Society of the Enthusiasts of the Region of Wadowice], as well as the Kazimierz Art Confraternity / Kazimierska Konfraternia Sztuki – Artistic Colony in Kazimierz Dolny.
